Winters can be harsh in many regions of the country, particularly in the interior and Prairie provinces, which experience a continental climate, where daily average temperatures are near −15 °C (5 °F) but can drop below −40 °C (−40 °F) with severe wind chills.
Canada's two official languages are English and French. The Canadian currency system uses dollars ($) and cents (¢) similar to the US, Australia and New Zealand. Most hotels, stores and restaurants will accept US dollars, though sometimes at a lower exchange rate than at banks or airports. It is always a good idea to convert some of your money to Canadian currency prior to leaving home.

Cost Of Study & Living

Canada offers student a variety of courses to choose from. They range from certificate programs to Under graduate & Post graduate programs. Their duration varies from 1 to 3 years according to different programs respectively. The tuition fees range from 10000CAD to 24000 CAD per year or Rs.500000 to Rs.1200000. Scholarships can be availed by eligible candidates according to their merits. On an average excluding scholarships (approx) 

Tuition Fee: 
I year program - Tuition Fee will be 10000CAD to 24000CAD or Rs.5,00,000 to Rs.12,00,000
II year Program - Tuition Fee will be 20000CAD to 48000CAD or Rs.10,00,000 to Rs.24,00,000
III year program - Tuition Fee will be 30000CAD to 72000CAD or Rs.15,00,000 to Rs.36,00,000 

Total Living Expense:
The total living expense for an International student in Canada will be approximately around 10000CAD to CAD12000 per year which includes rent, food, transportation, personal expenses and other miscellaneous expenses. This figure is subject to change depending upon the lifestyle of the student, location and the type of accommodation He / She chooses which may vary from the College or University accommodation to renting a flat on one's own.
